1972 AMC Gremlin
I bought the car from the original owners and along with the original bill of sale,
showing a cost of $2,905, they had also given me the service manual, owner's manual, and
an extra Gremlin locking gas cap.As a car collector for the past
twenty years and a subscriber to HMN for some fifteen years, I never thought I would own a
Gremlin. But one rainy Saturday in November '97, I saw a local ad for a 1972
Gremlin.
Well, I bought it. The car was in beautiful condition and had some nice
options, such as: factory a/c, tinted glass, power steering, auto trans, radio, vinyl
interior, bumper guards, interior appointment package, and full wheelcovers. The car was
garage kept all those years, and maintained to date. |
The car is blue with a 232 six and 94,000 miles, runs great, and the
a/c even blows cold. Well, due to HMN, I noticed the interest that
was arising as I breezed through some back issues to see the Gremlin has come alive again.
If anyone has questions or information to share, please get in touch.
I'm sure a Gremlin club will start in the near future. No matter who you tell that you own
a Gremlin, they will laugh first all the time. The car is a sure joke, but very
dependable.
